Punjabi Dhaba Dixon is a straightforward Indian restaurant right off I-80 that fits the bill for anyone looking to grab a hearty, no-frills meal reflecting authentic Punjabi flavors. This spot feels like a local roadside stop that’s been welcoming travelers and locals alike with warming dishes carved from traditional recipes. The atmosphere is relaxed and casual—think easy dining with practical seating rather than fine-dining formality—making it a convenient place to drop in for a quick, satisfying lunch or dinner.

The real draw here is the food itself, especially if you enjoy classic Indian dishes done with a clear nod to Punjabi style. The buffet option stands out for those who want to sample a range of flavors quickly without waiting for individual orders. You can expect staples like tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala served alongside steaming basmati rice and freshly baked naan, which locals mention comes hot and nicely flavored, though occasionally with a spicier kick.

Vegetarian options like saag paneer and malai kofta add variety, and side snacks such as samosas or pani puri lend a tangy, crisp contrast. The presence of traditional drinks like mango lassi or chai rounds out the meal, offering familiar comfort with a South Asian twist.

Because of its location near a highway interchange, this restaurant tends to attract a mix of diners—from those passing through Dixon looking for a dependable meal to locals who appreciate the straightforward, tasty offerings and unhurried hospitality. The owners seem engaged and attentive, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits.

Best times to visit are midday or early evening when the buffet is well stocked and the dining room isn’t crowded, making it easier to settle in without the rush. This is a spot that works well for folks seeking a flavorful meal without fuss, whether it’s a solo traveler, a group of friends craving flavorful street-food-style dishes, or families wanting to share a variety of plates.

I enjoyed my experience with new cuisine! I had the pleasure of a dining peer who was very familiar with the names and ingredients of the various dishes, so it was an incredible dietary journey. One I will be back to continue!

I highly recommend Punjabi Dhaba in Dixon, CA! This roadside Dhaba is not only conveniently located off I80, but it also offers an amazing lunch buffet that is truly delightful. The food served in the buffet is delicious, and you'll find yourself enjoying every bite. The owners are wonderful people who take great care of their customers, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. The garlic naan at Punjabi Dhaba is absolutely out of this world. It's flavorful and perfectly cooked, complementing the other dishes perfectly. Additionally, the restaurant adds to the overall experience by playing Bollywood movies, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. The location is conveniently situated, with ample parking available. What's even better is that they are very trucker parking friendly, accommodating the needs of truck drivers. If you're in the area, make sure to stop by Punjabi Dhaba for a delicious meal, friendly service, and a truly enjoyable dining experience.

Indian buffet right off the freeway, well, why not, let's go! It wasn't crowded at all and the buffet was well stocked. Mostly I just like the tandoori chicken and the tikka masala with the basmati rice. The included naan was nice and hot and tasted good. I got my fill and was on my way. Buffets are good cause you don't have to wait for order taking, making food and being served, you just get food eat and go! I'll stop here again!

I had Saag Paneer and garlic naan. The food was great! The garlic naan was good , but it was a little different than other Indian places I have tried. Atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Prices are competitive. Will definitely be coming back.

Good food, nice service, and a warm welcoming ambience! We ordered the non-veg thali, sarson ka saag with makki di roti, and aloo parantha with tea. Everything was just wow! A must-try place for anyone craving authentic Punjabi flavors.

The paranthas taste really good. Some of the tandoor items were OK not as great. The service is not bad and is what you can expect from a dhaba like place. They could put some charpai's just to make it more authentic. Overall an OK food place.

I hope this place does well! People of Dixon, think outside the bun! No not Taco Bell, come here! If you have never had Indian food come into it with no preconceived notions. Always safe with the grilled chicken and butter chicken is my opinion and is how I got into Indian food myself! The staff were super friendly and can help guide you their food. Soo yummy!!! They will be seeing me much more!
